The City of Reno identified approximately 19,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe in need of replacement. There were ten major areas located in both residential and commercial neighborhoods. Several of the segments were between 60-80 years and in need or replacement. CFA worked closely with the City, NDOT and utility companies to identify and analyze existing infrastructure and areas of potential conflict. During the construction phase, the project required significant coordination and outreach with the business owners and neighboring properties to mitigate any loss of sewer service and hours of operation for the businesses. The project was awarded to A&K Earth Movers in early 2013. The $7.5 million project was completed in October 2013. CFA provided civil engineering design, topographic and construction surveying, construction inspection and construction management services.
