The property, a 1.9-acre site, is located at the south end of Virginia Lake Park between Moutain View Drive and Beck Street. CFA was hired by property owners, Northern Nevada Community Housing Resources Board (NNCHRB), to assist with zoning and entitlement processes. The project proved challenging as it faced extensive opposition from area residents, who were concerned about the introduction of low-income housing into their neighborhood. The project included a zone change, a Planned Unit Development handbook with multiple revisions and special use permit to solidify the sole-intent of the development of the property - per an agreement with nearby residents. CFA provided land use planning and civil engineering servies. Project construction was finally completed in 2017.
