This 3.6-acre, design-build project is located on Trademark Drive within the South Meadows Business Park in Southeast Reno. CFA was responsible for final civil and landscape improvement plans, surveying and construction staking. Construction began on the 53,000 square foot facility in the spring of 2010 and was completed in October 2010. The building received LEED Gold Certification from the USGBC in April 2011.
Landscaping and irrigation are designed to reduce irrigation consumption from a calculated baseline water use. A non-potable source of irrigation water is utilized. The landscaping exceeded the open space requirements of the South Meadows PUD by over 25 percent; thereby, resulting in extra LEED points. Landscape planters along the south property line are utilized for stormwater storage and groundwater recharge. Plant types were selected for their ability to grow in high pH soils, with high boron concentrations. User amenities include a small patio off the south building facade for lunches and informal gatherings.
