CFA worked with Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects on this 45,800 square foot building addition to the existing Washoe County School District technical facility in Reno, which includes a planting demonstration area, outdoor seating and a new day care drop-off. The irrigation system utilizes grey water from the building’s sinks and showers with supplemental water provided from a domestic line. Grey water distribution lines are located below hard surfaces to eliminate the possibility of cross-contamination with the domestic spray irrigation system. All drip irrigation emitters are installed below grade. Related work included retrofitting the existing irrigation system and consolidating existing irrigation points of connection. Construction began in the winter of 2008 and was completed in the winter of 2009.
